TOPIC OF DISCUSSION: “ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES “

ORGANIZERS: M.SC. NURSING II YEAR (ECO FRIENDLY GROUP)

MODERATOR: MS. JASNEET KAUR, MS. VIDHI AND MS. NEERAJ (NURSING TUTOR)

OBJECTIVES

The objectives of panel discussion were to:

  1. Acquires knowledge about environmental issues.

  2. Interpret problems of the past, through light on the problems of the present related to environment issues.

  3. Gain skills in conducting discussion method

  4. Reproduce the features for the benefit of all students.

INTRODUCTION

As a part of daily Saturday activity, Eco friendly club of A.C.N, Baru Sahib organized a discussion about environmental issues on 27/02/2016. This discussion was conducted for students to stimulate discussion, encouraging thinking and for assessing and enhancing their knowledge about the selected topics. The main purpose of discussion was to produce the features for the benefit of not only the participant but to all students as well.

WELCOME NOTE

Ms, Preet kamal Student of BSc nursing 3rd year hosted the event. The principal of ACN, faculty, participants and audience were invited. The participants and the organizers were introduced to the audience.

EVENT PROCEEDINGS:

Moderator introduced all the participants of panel discussion and their topics respectively. Moderator opened the discussion to participants.

Ms. Yamani started by giving a brief introduction of pollution and definition of pollution, types that is air, water, soil. She also briefly discussed about the effect of different types of pollution that is air, water, and soil.

Ms. Diksha, discussed about the current rate of population of india, causes of rapid population growth and consequence of over population. At last she also discussed regarding sewage disposable and health care and education.

Ms. Nidh , explained the outlines of deforestation, effects on water cycle, more effects of deforestation and effect on the environment. At the end of topic she also discussed regarding the possible solution of deforestation

Ms. Priyanka, discussed about global warming and cause of global warming.

Ms. Priyanka, explored about urbanization and impact of urbanization on health. (positive or negative effect.)

Ms. Deepika, discussed about acid rain, impact of acid rain on forest, lakes, rivers and buildings.

Ms. Chynika, explained about ozone layer and effect of ozone layer and its benefits. At last she discussed about the effect of UV radiation.

Ms.Manisha She explores biodiversity and earth biodiversity.

CLOSING:-

The closing remark and vote of thanks was given by Ms.Preet kamal.The contribution and support of the participants was appreciated. Mr Chitravel (Asst.prof.) thanks club members, all the speakers and participants who attended the discussion
