A two-day medical and surgical camp was organized by Akal Charitable Hospital and Akal College of Nursing under the auspices of The Kalgidhar Society on the 21st and 22nd of April. This initiative marked the hospital’s 102nd camp, solidifying its commitment to providing free healthcare services to the marginalized population in the Sirmaur district. With the blessings of Revered Saint-Sant Baba Iqbal Singh Ji, and under the guidance of Honourable Baba Dr. Davinder Singh Ji and Revered Dr. Neelam Kaur Mam Ji, the camp aimed to reach rural, underserved communities and offer comprehensive medical assistance.

Team and Volunteers: A dedicated team of 55 volunteers, comprising surgeons, medical specialists, nurses, and paramedical staff from Jalandhar, Chandigarh, and Moga, collaborated to make this camp a success. The volunteers brought a wealth of expertise and compassion to the event, exemplifying the spirit of selfless service. Under the esteemed leadership of Honourable Baba Dr. Davinder Singh Ji and Revered Dr. Neelam Kaur Mam Ji, the team’s combined efforts were directed towards providing much-needed medical care to those in need.

Impact and Outreach: The camp’s impact was far-reaching, as it catered to more than a thousand patients from rural, hilly regions across 50+ villages. These villages, scattered over a challenging mountainous terrain spanning 150 km, often lack access to proper healthcare facilities. The camp aimed to bridge this gap by bringing medical specialists to the doorstep of these communities.

Range of Specialties: The camp boasted a diverse team of medical professionals, including general surgeons, ENT surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, gynecologists, ophthalmologists, and experienced dental surgeons. This comprehensive lineup allowed the camp to address a wide range of medical conditions and provide specialized treatments.

Medical Services Provided: The two-day camp witnessed the delivery of healthcare services to 373 males and 536 females, showcasing the diversity of its beneficiaries. The medical team’s dedication led to the successful execution of 23 major and minor surgeries, transforming the lives of individuals and families. These surgeries not only alleviated physical discomfort but also brought smiles and renewed hope.

Ongoing Initiatives: Akal Charitable Hospital’s commitment to making healthcare accessible is evident through its regular organization of medical camps. These camps, conducted four times a year, aim to raise awareness among marginalized communities about essential healthcare services and the diseases they may be suffering from. The camp’s objectives align with the noble vision of The Kalgidhar Society and its dedication to serving the underserved.

Collaboration and Gratitude: The success of this camp was made possible through the dedicated efforts of faculty, students, and volunteers from Akal College of Nursing, Baru Sahib, under Eternal University. Their commitment to the cause of healthcare outreach played a crucial role in ensuring the event’s smooth execution.

Conclusion: In conclusion, the two-day medical and surgical camp organized by Akal Charitable Hospital and Akal College of Nursing exemplifies the power of collaborative efforts in serving the community. With the blessings of revered spiritual leaders and under the visionary leadership of Honourable Baba Dr. Davinder Singh Ji and Revered Dr. Neelam Kaur Mam Ji, this event reaffirmed the hospital’s dedication to providing free healthcare services to the underserved. As the hospital continues its noble mission, we look forward to witnessing its ongoing efforts in transforming lives and contributing to a healthier society.
